Another storm hit last night so today we couldn't pick watermelons (very sad news....NOT)
Instead we cleaned around the house this morning and Ian said we could be done work at lunch time due to the extra hours we've been working all week, Woohoo! This was music to our ears and we were pumped.
So with nothing much else to do with our afternoon off..we decided we'd do some guilt-free shopping! So we hit up Vinnies, the local op shop (which is closed on the weekends so we can never go to it) We were like giddy little teenage girls heading to the mall..
Both Cam and I walked away with some AMAZING finds. We only had an hour to spend in there but I'm sure we could have easily spent two. We tore that poor Vinnies apart. The dude behind the counter was looking at us like we were mental...going through the racks and racks of clothes and yelling across the store when we found something awesome.
Together we spent 45 bucks and carried away 3 backs full of uniquely awesome pieces that we absolutely have no idea how will fit in our backpacks.. but we don't care. We are two happy farm girls.
On another note..I can't help but think about how by shopping at op-shops we are being the most environmentally friendly consumers we could possibly be. We are re-using and up-cylcing clothes that would normally be headed towards a landfill. So not have we just saved our backpacker dollars..we have showed our planet earth some serious love at the same time, which is just another up-side to thrifting that I think is pretty freakin' cool.
Here are some of the looks we came up with this afternoon using solely second hand clothes! Most from today's shopping trip but some items I thrifted from other parts of Aus throughout my trip.
Thanks for reading xo
